Alright, let me massage my neck from so much nodding and bopping before I start this off because last night was too chill. With a lovely chill and melodic opening from Ninjoi, the night’s tone was set. If you were in the audience, you came for a good time and a chill vibe. After Ninjoi’s awesome set, Kero came out and gave us something different. How many MC’s you know DJ? Before he spat, he scratched… literally. Nostalgia came when Kero pulled out the vinyls and started placing and racing his fingers amongst the surface. A screech and scratch, a mix and a slap. Kero was mashing the tunes up. Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and more to unfold, Kero was bringing all the classics out to make a classic night.

After blessing us with times of pure rhymes, it was his time to showcase the skills. No attacking the new age rap, but it’s something about the early age bars that keep you wholesome. Kero was giving a swag many can’t touch keeping the crowd enlightened and bumping in tune. He even got a whole house to two steps with him. Talk about crowd control.

Vibes couldn’t be more in tune at this show. Kero came, and Kero conquered. From the classic, straight from the vinyl, scratch and dash dj set, to the crowd gathering and ear pleasing rhyme dimes. Our question of what lofi is was answered. Lofi is the feeling of pleasure, the release from tension, an alternative answer to problems turning a frown upside down. It’s musical therapy. You could dance or you could chill, freestyle to it or just appreciate the instruments given. Lofi, isn’t just music, it’s a life form. An art that cares to relate and make you feel okay.
